Winter will be here again before you know it (at least on the East Coast), which means it’ll be time to break out all the warm clothes, coats and layers. Speaking of layers, scarves are cute, cozy and make the perfect cold weather accessory. Although I can’t promise they will make you like winter any more though.
Scarves have always been one of my favorite accessories. I love that they can be used to not only keep you warm, but also to add a little color and fun to an outfit.
With so many types of scarves to choose from, including chunky knit, plush ribbed and soft flannel, which ones are the best? To help narrow it down I found 20 cute and cozy scarves for women.
Are scarves still in style?
In case you are wondering if scarves are still in style this year – in 2021, the answer is a huge YES.
Not only are there fashion scarves, but when you wear wraps, scarves and shawls, they keep in your body heat which helps warm you up. Cute and cozy is a complete win!
How should you wear scarves?
People can wear scarves in a variety of ways, but it is really up to your personal preference.
My favorite are infinity scarves for women because you can easily loop them around your neck, no tying necessary.
Another simple way to wear winter scarves for women is to fold the scarf in half then drape it around your neck. Next, take the two loose ends and put them through the loop of the folded part of the scarf. You can make it as tight or loose as you’d like.
If you want to look casually fashionable, then simply take a winter scarf and just let it hang around your neck. It will drape nicely over your shoulders.
I have a big fuzzy plaid scarf I bought years ago while traveling and it has become one of my best travel essentials, along with these Tieks or my favorite boots. I always wear it on the plane because it’s one of my best kept travel secrets.
Some of these even come in a matching hat scarf and gloves set.
The best part is that you can easily shop all the cute scarves right online.
What are the best scarves to buy?
There are so many kinds of scarves, which is probably why I have a whole closet full of them.
For wintertime I recommend wearing all the warmest styles (cashmere, wool, knit) and save the lighter styles (silk, chiffon, cotton) for fall and even spring.
