In fact one of the best drive-thru Christmas light displays in the country is in Burnsville, PA, which isn’t too far away from my hometown of Philly.

It’s called Kozier’s Christmas Village and it is also one of the top 10 tourist attractions in the state of Pennsylvania.

After that you can take a quick road trip to New York City to see the 75-foot-tall Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center.

There is also ice skating at Central Park, Bryant Park and Rockefeller Center.

Don’t forget to make time for a Broadway show, especially if you can get a cheap Broadway ticket this way

For some Christmas amusement park fun, never ever go to Disney, instead visit Christmas Town, Busch Gardens. This is held at both the Williamsburg, VA and Tampa, FL locations.

You will be able to see over 8 million lights and enjoy their signature peppermint fudge hot chocolate.

Cocoa Beach, Florida

How about warmer weather this Christmas and head to Cocoa Beach, Florida?

Make sure you head to the beach where you will catch hundreds of santas surfing the waves. 

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Chances are the Christmas season might not come to mind when you hear the words Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, but you would be surprised.

The Gettysburg Christmas Festival provides entertainment, delicious food, art, and fun for the whole family.

There’s also many cozy bed and breakfasts in Gettysburg that would be perfect to wake up in on Christmas morning. 

Solvang, California

This small danish village is known for its amazing wines and food.

Solvang is also home to Julefest, which is an exciting festival held during the Christmas season.

Many of the shops along Highway 101 are decked out in beautiful Christmas lights for you to admire. 

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Colorado Springs, Colorado is a wonderful wintery family vacation destination to visit during Christmas.

Even Pike’s Peak is blanketed in fluffy white snow to celebrate the occasion.

Make sure to take ice skates and head over to Acacia Park. Also, grab your skis and hit the slopes in the surrounding hills and mountains of Colorado Springs.  

San Diego, California 

Christmas morning with 62 degree weather sounds nice right? San Diego, California is a great city to spend the Christmas season.

The Christmas Circle in Chula Vista is a popular place to view Christmas lights. The free display is open from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly from December 12 through December 26, and is perfect for getting in the Christmas spirit. 

Nantucket, Massachusetts

Nantucket’s cobblestone streets and little shops are dressed handsomely for the holidays.

You’ll even find the lighthouses decorated in wreaths and charm as well.

There’s so many events and activities to enhance the season including, Christmas Tree Lighting and the Christmas Stroll Weekend.

Christmas Town USA, North Carolina

For the past 63 years, the small town of McAdenville, North Carolina changes its name to Christmas Town USA every December.

There are over 375 pine trees that are spruced up and community homes glittering with red, white and green lights.

During the Yule Log Parade, visitors receive free hot cocoa and kettle corn and accompanied with music from carollers, Church choirs, and area school students.
