Ingredients
From basic to gourmet, you can use any kind of hot chocolate mix you like.
While this recipe suggests mixing the packet with 6 ounces of water, just follow the instructions on the back of whatever packet you chose.
With both vanilla and caramel vodka, the flavor is insanely good. If you don’t have both of these flavors or don’t want to buy two new bottles, simply leave one out.
While the flavor will change if you forgo both the vanilla and caramel, you can still create yummy spiked cocoa with plain vodka too.
Add a dollop of whipped cream, caramel drizzle, a peppermint stick, some sea salt, whatever you’d like.
Your garnish can be part of the flavor or just to make it look pretty.
Directions
To a microwaveable cup, jar or measuring cup add water or milk (depending on the hot chocolate mix you’ve chosen).
Microwave based on the instructions from the packet.
When heated, add the hot chocolate mix.
Stir well making sure the mix dissolves and there are no lumps.
Until we can get back to traveling in a safe and healthy way, my kids and I have been doing some creative vacations at home.
We put together a fun hot chocolate bar and they made a delicious frozen hot chocolate while I sipped on some spiked hot chocolate.
