Nothing could have ever prepared me for how fast my son would grow from a toddler into a teen. I feel like I blinked and all of a sudden my sweet smelling baby turned into a stinky teenager. If you have a teenage boy you know exactly the kind of stink I am talking about. Smelling good and feeling confident go hand in hand, and one thing I constantly strive to instill in my children is confidence.

When it comes to teens, do you know how to give your teen boys more confidence?

Now that my son is in high school, starting to date and caring more about his appearance plus smelling good, I thought it was the perfect time for a Momversation with him. Thanks to this sale I was able to stock up on some AXE products just in time for our talk.

Have you had a Momversation yet? Do you know what a Momversation is? If you have a tween or tween boy, you will definitely want to keep reading.

They are basically heart to heart, healthy conversations with your teen about hygiene, so you can help them better navigate those hormone-filled teenage years. This is a lighthearted way to break the ice and tell your teen its time to stop the stink and start smelling great!

Here is how I had a Momversation with my teenage son:

First I purchased a new loofah and some AXE products while I was shopping at CVS.

  • AXE Phoenix 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner – This 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner formula is good for the gym, dorm, and on-the-go.
  • AXE Apollo Body Wash – No. 1 in the World Male Body Wash Brand (*Source: Euromonitor International Limited;
Men’ bath and shower retail value sales, 2016. Axe includes all AXE/Lynx/Ego Sales). It’s invigorating, and designed to leave you feeling refreshed and smelling good.
  • AXE Phoenix Deodorant Stick – A deodorant strong enough to ensure 24-hour protection, which gives renewed confidence without fear of body odor or sweat stain.
  • Axe Clean Cut Look Classic Pomade – Tame unruly hair and combat pouf while providing medium hold along with a finishing shine.

Then I strategically placed the new items for my son on his bed along with a little love note from Mom.

I gave my teen some time and space to check out his new stink and sweat busting tools from AXE before I knocked on the bathroom door to see what he thought.

He appreciatively smelled the AXE Phoenix Deodorant Stick, which has a classic, fruity fragrance that features lavender, geranium and citrus and smiled. I took the smile as a positive sign (I mean you never know these days due to the variety of teenage emotions).

Next I eased into a conversation about confidence and how I want to make sure he always has the tools he needs to look, smell and feel his best.

We laughed together as he tried to get me to smell his armpits (gross) and then jokingly asked if I was trying to tell him something.

Our conversation centered on hormones, bodily changes during these teenage years and the active lifestyle he leads.

My advice was to make sure he has a good hygiene routine that makes him feel fresh and clean. We talked about how smelling good and feeling refreshed go hand in hand with feeling more confident each day.

My son thanked me for the new products, hugged me and said he was excited to start using them.

After our Momversation I breathed a sigh of relief that he wasn’t upset with me for basically telling him to stop the stink and start smelling great.

Now that you know how to give your teen boys more confidence, head to CVS, grab some AXE products, and have the Momversation.
