First it took a little fibbing.
I put my son in the car in the middle of the night then picked up his Dad. When we arrived at the airport my son’s father and I gave him the biggest surprise, besides the fact that his Dad was now in the car and we were at an airport. He was beyond excited to find out his Dad and I were taking him on vacation for a few days to Universal Studios in Florida.
Sounds like a fun time right?
Where to Stay
When we were searching for resorts we knew we definitely wanted to stay onsite at Universal Studios, and we preferred budget friendly. Luckily there are multiple resorts to choose from all with different themes and within different price points.
After looking at the various resort options and checking the costs, we decided to stay at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort. They have guest rooms as well as family suites with plenty of space that sleep up to 6 people. I am going to share with you what you need to know about Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort in Orlando.
One of the best perks to staying at a Universal Studios Orlando onsite resort is the free transportation plus early admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (don’t miss this ride).
Upon arriving at this vibrant and retro-looking resort we were greeted with the friendliest staff.
Check in was informative and a breeze.
Since we arrived long before the resort’s standard check in time, we were able to comfortably change our clothes inside of the spacious and clean Jack LaLanne Physical Fitness Studio spa area.
We wanted to head right to the theme parks, so thankfully the concierge was super helpful in safely storing our luggage.
I loved that the resort sent a text message when our room was ready. After we finished at the parks we came back to the resort to unpack, explore and finally relax.
What You Need To Know About Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort
One of the coolest things you should know about Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is that there is a bowling alley called Galaxy Bowl right inside the resort. This action packed fun spot is located on the second floor (lobby building) and comes complete with a table service restaurant plus a full bar.
Cabana Bay Beach Resort has a couple of beautiful, large pools that offer endless fun for everyone. You will be treated to an incredible view of the volcano at Universal Orlando’s third and newest theme park, a water park called Volcano Bay, right from the Cabana Pool area.
The Cabana Pool features a dive-tower themed waterslide and the Lazy River Pool features a winding river along with a sand beach. We spent many relaxing hours floating and hanging out along the lazy river. My one tip is to make sure to BYOFF (Bring Your Own Fun Floats)
This resort keeps the fun going all day long with poolside activities, and also the Ace Arcade, Friday evening character appearances and more.
There are at least 7 different places right at Cabana Bay Beach Resort to enjoy meals, snacks, drinks and more. During our stay we enjoyed the Bayliner Diner for its many food options all throughout the day. Each evening we picked up some snacks and drinks to enjoy by the pool or take back to the room.
Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort has something for everyone of all ages. My favorite part was that it provided such easy access to the Universal theme parks.
