Lately I have been hearing the term “living your best life” being used pretty frequently. Even my kids say it which makes me laugh because I feel as though they are always living their best life.
When I hear that phrase I often pause and think to myself, “well am I?” Am I living my best life?
How do you even know what living your best life feels like?
After receiving a surprise invite and attending a rockin’ event in San Diego last month, courtesy of Kia, I definitely thought I was living my best life.
Fortunately for me I wasn’t finished.
Not too long after coming home from San Diego I was feeling bummed that the party was over, and guess what? I received another surprise invite. This time to the upscale and chic city of Santa Barbara, California.
Well, I recently returned from the West Coast and had the absolute time of my life with an amazing group of people more accurately known as the Kia Family.
In fact I am currently reflecting, dreaming about and missing the entire KiaSBExp (Kia Santa Barbara Experience).
As I continued to relive the whole trip in my head, I thought to myself that this experience was what I think living my best life feels like.
What I Think Living Your Best Life Feels Like
I think that living your best life starts with driving or riding in a luxurious, posh vehicle, like the Kia Cadenza, which simply oozes class and sophistication.
Next you would get the opportunity to drive that vehicle up the scenic California coast with a fun friend (Jenn) to a picturesque destination like Santa Barbara.
You would arrive and park your vehicle at a five-star hotel called the Belmond El Encando where you might stay for a few days so you could be properly pampered.
There you would have the opportunity to hug and catch up with old friends, while connecting and making new ones at the same time.
In order to really feel like you are living your best life, I think some spa treatments would be in order. A deep tissue or Swedish massage sound perfectly relaxing to me, followed by brunch with a mimosa or two.
Living your best life doesn’t stop there, instead I think that you need to step out of your comfort zone and experience foods and activities that you haven’t tried before.
Loquita for dinner to enjoy the most amazing tableside Paella, along with a huge side of nervous excitement as you cave kayak through the Channel Islands both sound like things someone who was living their best life would participate in.
Oh and I could never forget two private tours of fantastic wineries (Grassini Family Vineyards and Sunstone Vineyards and Winery), along with an outdoor cooking class followed by a beautiful wine paired dinner.
Now I am not saying that in order to live your best life you must engage in these activities that I outlined above, but that is exactly what my itinerary looked like a couple of weeks ago. I could not be happier to tell you that I certainly embraced and soaked up every second of this custom crafted experience thanks to Kia (check out the hashtag #KiaSBExp).
How I Lived My Best Life During the #KiaSBExp
I allowed myself to be immersed in luxury, feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
I allowed myself to be inspired by and listen to the creative minds of the people who were surrounding me.
I reminded myself to be grateful and thankful for this unique vacation, and make a mental note to continue to stay true to my authentic self.
To sum up what I think living your best life feels like, its satisfying, much like you feel at the end of a long road trip when you finally reach your destination.
I also think that you feel a sense of happiness within yourself and a nice level of feeling comfortable in your own skin.
You don’t have to please others and can feel free to be unapologetically you.
How You Can Start Living Your Best Life (if you don’t feel like it already)
My words of wisdom to start living your best life, if you don’t feel like it already, is to encourage, support and cheer others on each day. Don’t be cautious with kindness, but instead sprinkle it around like confetti. Do not be afraid to experience new people, places and things. Take that leap without worrying about the possibility of failing, because without failures in life there would be no success. Document your days to remind you of the ups and downs of life, and capture the everyday moments, because it is usually the everyday, ordinary moments that leave the biggest impact upon life.
