Do you love to shop?
I have a bit of a shopping addiction, so I am always up for any tips on how to save money yet still look fashionable.
Now this fashion tip that I am about to share with you can be done right from the comfort of your home (shopping just doesn’t get any better than that).
This fashion tip will not cost you anything, other than a little time and creativity.
This fashion tip can provide you with the chance to clean and re-organize.
My Top Secret Fashion Tip: How To Shop For Free is….shop your closet!
Now you are probably thinking what? How is that shopping if I already own these things?
I have to tell you that at first I did not fully believe in this way to “shop”, but after I actually spent some time in my closet and tried it, I was amazed at some of the clothes and shoes that I rediscovered. I was also able to create some fresh new outfits all for free.
The first thing that you will need to do to kick off your closet shopping trip the right way is to get in your closet and start to clean it out.
Be honest with yourself in what fits you, what colors you like, and what you feel comfortable and fashionable in. I tried for years to hold on to a ripped and fringed shirt (that still had the tags on it), but after my last closet shopping trip, it was finally time to say goodbye and donate this article of clothing that I never even wore.
The next thing I did after cleaning out my closet (do you now have Eminem’s song stuck in your head? You are welcome!) was to organize it.
I hang most of my articles of clothing so that I can see them clearly, which really helps when having to put together an outfit in a pinch. My closet is organized by type of clothing, style (short-sleeved, sweaters, blazers, dresses, posh pants etc.) and even by colors.
After you have cleaned out your closet and are finally able to truly take a look at what pieces of clothing you have to work with, its time to mix, match and rediscover your clothing to create some new, fun looks.
I guarantee that you will be surprised at how once you start to shop in your own closet, you’ll feel like you just gained a whole new wardrobe.
Check out this previous post of mine to see how I mixed and matched up various colors and prints that I never even thought to put together, because who says fashion has to be all matchy-matchy.
So it’s time to put my fashion tip to good use by organizing, getting creative in the closet and shopping for free.
Have you ever shopped your closet and found a piece of clothing that you never knew you even had?
