Hi Friends and Happy New Year !
I have to say (over and over again) that I can not believe it is 2015. Wait, what?! Where oh where does the time go? I remember watching Back to the Future II when it was released in 1989 (yes, 25 years ago) and thinking, “Wow, I hope that I am around in 2015 to see hover boards, flying cars and self drying jackets!” Georg Sander via Compfight
Well, 2015 has arrived and despite there not being any flying cars and self drying jackets, I think that it will be a great year filled with all kinds of new and amazing adventures for my family and I.
I know that a lot of people like to kick off their new year with a list full of resolutions, which I do as well, except this year I am going to make mine attainable resolutions (that gets a big thumbs up, as my 4 year old would say!) This means that instead of trying to set a lot of big goals and too high expectations for myself, I am being a lot more realistic with my resolutions for 2015!
Here are some of my little changes, instead of big changes for 2015:
1. Take at least one more family vacation than last year. – 2014 was a great year for my family as we were lucky enough to have gone on two pretty amazing family vacations. We first kicked off 2014 by going on a Disney Cruise and then we ended the year by going to Puerto Rico for Thanksgiving!
2. Read more. – Reading has always been one of my most favorite pastimes, but I found that last year I made less and less time to sit down and curl up with a good book. This year I resolve to read more, and I have committed to setting aside at least 15 minutes a day to read (if not more!)
3. Shop my closet. – I am an online shopaholic – there I said it! I don’t ever need a reason to shop for clothes, shoes, purses, scarves or accessories, which is why my closet is overpacked with items that still have the tags on them . This year I have resolved to shop within my own closet more, and I am already amazed at the whole outfits that I recently discovered have been hiding right under my nose. – This little change is a double duty one because it can also help you save money! (infinity scarf – Modcloth; gray long sleeve soft tee – Popbasic and distressed jeans – American Eagle)
4. Get more sleep . – Sleep is such a precious commodity and for anyone who knows me, I unfortunately do not get nearly enough of it. Sleep is so important for your health, mind and body, and this year I am resolving to take more advantage of it!
So now that I have shared some of the little changes that I plan to make in 2015, I would like for you to please share some of yours in the comments below. What are you resolving to do in 2015?
