Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Experiences You Can’t Miss

One of the biggest events this season at Walt Disney World is the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP). This after-hours experience is packed with Halloween surprises, exclusive entertainment and of course treats.

Although the party officially kicks off at 7:00 pm, you can enter the park as early as 4:00 pm to get three extra hours of fun. You’ll need that time, because between 4:00 pm and midnight, there are so many can’t miss opportunities at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

I recently had a chance to experience all of the not so scary fun during a long weekend getaway to Disney World while I was attending the Permission to Hustle Disney conference. Thanks to Disney World for hosting us so we could kick off fall in a magical way.

What Time is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party?

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party runs from August 16, 2019 through November 1, 2019. This event is appropriate for children of all ages and is held on select nights from 7:00 PM to midnight at the Magic Kingdom.

Ticket prices start at $79.00, but if you buy your ticket at least one day in advance you can save $10 per ticket.

5 Can’t Miss Experiences

1. Magic Shots

Don’t miss out on the Magic Shots from Photopass photographers stationed all around the park. Photopass is a great way to capture memories, and an event like this is definitely worth some memorabilia.

Magic Shots are enhanced photos that add some character and Disney flair plus fun to your photos. They are available in parks all over Disney World during regular operating hours. However, at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP), there are a whole new set of fun Halloween options.

2. Meet Rare Characters

Another unique opportunity you have when you go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is a chance to meet some rare characters, especially some of the Disney villains.  You never know who might turn up, or what they will be wearing.

I spotted the Queen of Hearts and also Anastasia and Drizella throughout the night. I love the way the characters interact with both kids and adults.

You can find Disney Junior Characters in Dumbo’s Storybook Circus and some uncommon sightings often happen in Adventureland. The biggest draw of the evening is Jack Skellington and Sally. You can find the Pumpkin King and his favorite girl over in Liberty Square.

3. Monsters Inc Laugh Floor

The treat trail at Monsters Inc in Tomorrowland leads to an all-new experience. As you wander through the theater, you’ll notice the monsters entertaining anyone who wants to sit and watch.

There is no wait for this exclusive Laugh Floor opportunity and you can come and go as you like. While inside you can help the monsters understand what Halloween is.

4. Boo to You

Perhaps the biggest attraction of the evening at the 2019 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the parade. This exciting and fun evening parade kicks off with an appearance from the Headless Horseman.

The parade features characters in festive costumes, ghoulish ballroom dancers from the Haunted Mansion, and lots more fun for the whole family. The gravediggers are not to be missed during this parade, and you can actually watch the whole thing over on my IGTV.

An excellent way to really appreciate the parade is by visiting Cruella’s Halloween Hide-a-way. Join one of the most glamorous of the villains for this sinister soiree at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant for an all-you-care-to-enjoy assortment of appetizer and dessert samplers.

This event requires an extra ticket, but the view of the parade from your reserved seating section is the perfect strategy for escaping the crowds at Disney

5. Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular

Finally, Disney has an all-new fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom, and it is incredible. The Not So Spooky Spectacular is a cutting edge entertainment experience that lights up the sky and transforms Cinderella’s Castle with new projections.

Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy are taken to a mysterious haunted house where they encounter dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and of course the Disney villains! Listen and be amazed as Jack Skellington hosts this not so scary, incredible experience.

The spectacle is enough on its own, but you can have some fun by getting the dessert party. There are two viewing areas in the Main Street Plaza where you can enjoy reserved viewing. The dessert party includes all-you-care-to-enjoy sweet and savory treats as well as specialty beverages.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Party Tips:

Don’t forget to trick or treat and collect all the candy that you can around the park. I have a great checklist to all of the rides and attractions in Magic Kingdom plus the other 3 parks so you don’t miss a thing.

For those who have allergies make sure you check out this allergy friendly guide before you go to the party!

No matter what you decide to do when visiting Disney this fall, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party experience looks more fun than ever before.
