When my family and I were thinking about where to go for Spring Break/Easter vacation earlier this year, there was one destination that we all agreed on, Florida.
After spending last Thanksgiving at Marriott’s beautiful resort on Singer Island, we wanted to look for a similar family friendly and private beach front resort, but this time within the Fort Lauderdale area.
That is when I found a hidden gem of a resort in Pompano Beach Florida, called the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa.
Although the resort is located on a main road within Pompano Beach, at 1200 North Ocean Blvd., once you set foot into the beautiful and perfectly beach themed lobby of the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa you get the feeling that you are situated on an intimate island.
Upon arriving at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa, we were immediately greeted by the valet staff, who couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.
Parking at the hotel is all valet and it costs $27.00 per day. I’ll admit that at first I didn’t love the idea of all valet, but the valet staff at this resort is super efficient. We simply called the valet stand a few minutes before we wanted to go somewhere, and our car was always there waiting for us.
Check in was a breeze, especially as I always check-in prior to our arrival at any Marriott resort via the Marriott app.
My kids (Reece – 12 and Tatum – 7) loved the fruit infused water that Marriott has in the lobby for guests, and they had fun trying to guess what fruits could be found in the water each day.
There is a beautiful spa located on the main floor of the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa, SiSpa, which is a sanctuary for the body, mind and spirit.
Unfortunately I didn’t get to try it out this trip, but I recommend that while you are on staying at this resort, you take some me time to get pampered with a massage, facial, pedicure or manicure.
Our family had an oceanview room with two queen beds during our stay, complete with a balcony, and wow did we have quite the stunning view.
I highly recommend a room with an oceanview if you stay at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa.
We could see one of the resort’s pool’s along with a beautiful stretch of beach and ocean.
My husband and I made sure not to miss one spectacular sunrise right from our balcony during our vacation.
One of the things that our family really looked forward to each morning during our vacation was the buffet breakfast at McCoy’s Oceanfront, a casual, American and Seafood restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
My son and I enjoyed the create your own waffle station, while my husband said that the made to order omelettes were some of the best he has ever tasted.
The buffet was such a delicious way to start every day before we headed off to have some fun in the sun.
You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, plus McCoy’s Oceanfront also serves Starbucks.
The Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa has two excellent pools to cool off in, swim, play and relax.
We really loved how family friendly the pool area was, and it was a complete win when both of my kids made friends to swim with.
A really nice feature about the fact that I found a hidden gem of a resort in Pompano Beach Florida, is that if you wanted to venture into Fort Lauderdale to visit their beaches, resorts, restaurants and nightlife, you are only about a 10 minute drive away.
I highly recommend taking the Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi in order to get a beautiful tour of the Fort Lauderdale area.
If you have an opportunity to stay at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach Resort & Spa what would you indulge in first, get pampered at SiSpa, eat a meal at McCoy’s Oceanfront, head to the pool or take a relaxing walk on the beach?
