Music is the strongest form of magic.
Music has the ability to clear heads, affect souls and lift people up.
Music steps in and takes over at the place where words sometimes fail us.
Music is a powerful force, just like the Kia brand is.
Similar to how certain songs and melodies tell a story and can take you on a sentimental journey, the positivity and optimism, which is what Kia’s DNA consists of, can make you feel those same feels.
One of my favorite ways to recall certain moments in my life is through music. Just like trying to figure out how the pieces of an intricate puzzle fit together, I embrace the challenge of hearing a song and deciphering what timeframe of my life it relates to. I recently heard a song that prompted me think about #TheNewKia and ask has music ever put you in a sentimental mood?
A few months ago I was relaxing and listening to one of my favorite jazz songs, “In A Sentimental Mood”, when I received an exciting email. The email was an invite to attend Kia’s legendary digital influencer event (#TheNewKia) in beautiful San Diego for the second year in a row.
So, has music ever put you in a sentimental mood?
Hearing “In A Sentimental Mood” while reading that email was fate.
My mind was immediately flooded with thoughts of the prior year when I fearlessly hopped on a plane and traveled across the country to attend Kia’s rockin’ event in San Diego. I allowed myself to feel a bit sentimental as I reminisced over how I hardly knew any of the almost 50 influencers in attendance, but by the time I was heading back home, only 3 short days later, I felt like I was a part of a whole new family, the Kia family.
I consciously pushed my sentimental mood aside so I could reflect on this year’s incredible #TheNewKia event. The setting and stage were the same, but my role within the Kia family had grown. This time there were some fresh faces in attendance and a new star of the show, the sexy Kia Stinger.
I smiled as I fondly thought of the community and creativity that evolved over this trip. I was proud of the impressions that were made (literally, as #TheNewKia was actually trending on twitter). My heart was warmed from watching bonds being formed while people cruised around the streets of San Diego together in Kia’s first all wheel drive sedan.
The music made and unique content that was produced, while teams of influencers reveled in the exhilarating fact that the Stinger can go 0-60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds, was similar to watching your favorite musical artists come together for a magical music mash-up.
Kia is a unique brand.
They don’t want you to only hear about their cars. Instead they want to you sit back, relax and listen to their story.
Their story is like an original song that over time more and more people connect with, embrace and want to put their own spin on, just like one of my favorite jazz songs, “In A Sentimental Mood”.
Even though the curtain has closed on this years #TheNewKia event, the effect it had will surely be lasting.
I hope the photos, memories and music, along with hearing about the history of Kia and how they “got good“, will continue to inspire storytellers to always use their own authentic voice no matter where the road may take them.
