Today’s blog post is a guest one from my very crafty cousin Maddy! Maddy recently moved to Arizona (lucky girl right?), and when I visited her new apartment I couldn’t help but to take notice of all of her beautiful decorations. Many of them were simply made all by her!
She recently saw a Holiday themed wreath at Pier 1 Imports, but once she saw the price tag, she decided to make it on her own!
Enjoy and please let us know if you are feeling crafty and decide to try it out. Feel free to send pictures as well of your finished wreath.
DIY Pier 1 Ornament Wreath
I saw this adorable wreath at Pier 1 Imports and loved it until I looked at the price tag …$65! So I decided I’d make one myself for a lot less (about $12) and use the right colors to match my other decor. First stop to the dollar store. The dollar store has plenty of tubes of multi colored ornaments in different sizes. You will need about 100 ornaments to make the wreath. Next step head over to Michaels or a local craft store for a wire wreath, a glue gun, and floral wire.
Wire wreath ($4 Michaels)
About 100 ornaments, different sizes ($8 Dollar Tree)
Hot glue gun
1. Once you have all of your supplies together, start with the larger ornaments. Thread floral wire through the top of the ornament and then secure to the wire wreath. Hot glue the sides of the ornaments together to hold in place.
2. Add the smaller ornaments with hot glue. You can just glue the little guys to the bigger ones and forgo the floral wire at this point. Don’t be stingy with your ornaments, the fuller the better!
3. Hang your wreath up for all to see!
