8 Fashion and Beauty Must Haves When Traveling to the Caribbean

Sharing is caring!

Bon dia! (That is how you say good morning when you are on the beautiful island of Curaçao, which is where I am fortunate enough to currently be.

8 Fashion and Beauty Must Haves When Traveling to the Caribbean
The Caribbean is one of my most favorite destinations to travel to, and I am always searching for a new island to experience. For years I have heard that Curaçao is a must visit Caribbean island, so I decided to travel here and check it out for myself.

8 Fashion and Beauty Must Haves When Traveling to the Caribbean
Since I travel so frequently I must say that I have become quite the expert packer. Most people find this hard to believe but I only ever carry on when I travel, even if it is a week-long cruise throughout the Caribbean. When I travel there are some staple fashion and beauty items that I absolutely must have with me, which I would like to share with you.

10 Fashion and Beauty Must Haves When Traveling to the Caribbean

1. A few fun swimsuits.

Some of my favorite places to purchase swimsuits of all kinds to fit a range of body types are Target, Nordstrom (I linked a swimsuit that I recently bought at Nordstrom by BCA) and Lands End

Swimsuits are an obvious must have when traveling to the Caribbean, as that is hopefully what you will be wearing during the bulk of your trip. Here’s a note to all of my fellow ladies, this is your chance to free yourself of any body consciousness or issues and just enjoy the skin that you are in. Put on that bikini that you may have been scared to wear in the past, and rock it proudly!

2. Cover ups that can also double for wearing around the resort fashionably.

I love a good, cute swimsuit cover up (I linked a beautiful coverup that I recently bought for my last trip to Puerto Rico, which even doubles as a maxi dress.) I like to wear a cover up that is fashionable enough to be seen in at the restaurants and bars around the resort, especially so I don’t immediately have to change after spending time  at the beach or pool.

3. Havaianas.

These are my most favorite flip-flops because they are comfy, cute and they do not hurt or irritate my feet, even if I wear them all day long. They come in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colors, and you can even customize a pair right on the Havaianas website. My whole family wears this brand of flip-flops and we never forget to slip a pair or two into our bags when we travel.

4. Tieks.

Now if you are already a loyal Clarissa Explains It All reader then you should be well aware of my obsession over the most amazing and stylish foldable flats known as Tieks. I never leave home without my Tieks, especially because they can simply be tucked right into my purse for easy wearing when I want to explore the Caribbean in a comfortable way. I was so happy to show off the newest addition to my Tieks collection during my trip to Curaçao, fuchsia Tieks.

5. Easy breezy summer dresses.

To make my carrying on when I travel to the Caribbean that much easier, I pack as light as I possibly can with light and airy summery dresses.

6. Clarisonic Mia Fit.

I have been a long time avid user of Clarisonic devices for my skin to keep my face clean, clear and glowing. Recently I received the new Clarisonic Mia Fit, and I definitely won’t be traveling without it. It is so portable and perfect for keeping my face clean and glowing, even after it’s been kissed by the Caribbean sun’s rays.

7. Nars Tinted Moisturizer with 30 SPF.

I love multitasking beauty products, especially when I travel. Nars Tinted Moisturizer with 30 SPF makes my top list of fashion and beauty items to travel to the Caribbean with because not only does it keep my skin from feeling dry and flaky, but it protects my face from the sun’s harmful rays, while also covering up my under eye circles.

8. Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara.

I have never been a huge fan of wearing a lot of makeup, but one of my makeup must haves is mascara. My favorite mascara, which I hardly ever leave the house without coating my lashes with is Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. When traveling to the Caribbean I still want my lashes to look long and lush, so I always make sure to pack Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara. I can swim in the turquoise colored Caribbean ocean waters and play in the pool all day long, minus the raccoon eyes from mascara that runs.

Now that you know my 8 Fashion and Beauty Must Haves When Traveling to the Caribbean, I hope that this list will help you stress less when packing for your next island vacation, and be able to travel beautifully!

I would love to go there someday but as for rocking a bikini? Gah! Why can't they just make swimsuits that cover your thighs? I would be fine with going back to the 1920s and being fully covered up. LOL! I'm so jealous of your vacation. Take me with you next time.
